What is Botox (Botulinum Toxin)?
Botulinum toxin is a substance that, when injected, prevents the release of neurotransmitters between the nerve and sweat gland, which significantly reduces perspiration in the treated area. The substance is purified from bacteria and has been used for over 40 years to treat, among other things, excessive sweating, spastic paralysis, and cosmetic concerns.
The doses used to treat excessive sweating are microscopically small and completely safe.
Which areas can be treated?
This treatment is suitable for reducing sweat production in the armpits, palms, and other areas with high perspiration.
How does the treatment work?
The product is injected just under the surface of the skin in the desired doses. The number of injections depends on the treatment area. The procedure is not entirely pain-free — a stinging or burning sensation may occur but will quickly subside.
In rare cases, when treating the palms or soles of the feet, we recommend applying a numbing cream beforehand. This cream can be purchased over-the-counter at a pharmacy. After application, cover the area with household plastic wrap or a rubber glove to enhance the effect.
You should rest and avoid touching the treated area for 4 hours after the procedure to reduce the risk of infection and prevent the product from spreading to unintended areas. Make-up on the treated area should also be avoided during this period.
Until any swelling has completely subsided, avoid extreme heat such as sun exposure or saunas. Direct cooling with ice is also not recommended.
What is the effect of the treatment?
After the treatment, sweat production in the treated area will gradually decrease. The effect typically becomes noticeable within approximately 2 weeks and lasts an average of up to 7 months. Sensation in the treated area will remain unchanged.
Who should not receive this treatment?

People with relevant allergies
People with infections in the area: acne, herpes, or other local infections
People diagnosed with: Eaton Lambert Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Individuals taking immunosuppressive or blood-thinning medication
