The treatment is intended for people who are overweight with a BMI > 27 and related conditions such as high blood pressure or sleep apnea, or simply a BMI over 30.

The medication is administered as a subcutaneous injection, given once a week. Before you begin treatment, you will receive full instruction on how to use the medication during your initial consultation with the nurse.

The medication works by regulating appetite and increasing the feeling of fullness. This treatment can help reduce calorie intake and promote weight loss over time.

The most common side effects, experienced by approximately 10% of people using Wegovy®, include:

– Stomach pain

– Constipation

– Diarrhea

– Acid reflux / Nausea

These are all gastrointestinal-related side effects, typically appearing shortly after dose escalation and lasting only a few days.

With the right support, we help you through this stage safely and comfortably, so you can quickly move forward in your treatment. In most cases, these side effects will disappear or be significantly reduced.

Life After Wegovy®:

Once you’ve reached your goal, we recommend 3 follow-up consultations with our nurse.

After finishing treatment with Wegovy®, there is a risk of regaining weight if healthy eating and exercise habits are not maintained. The body typically produces fewer satiety hormones after weight loss, which may lead to increased hunger and fatigue. These effects can gradually decrease after stopping the medication, but if previous unhealthy habits and a sedentary lifestyle return, weight gain may occur.

That’s why it’s crucial to continue healthy lifestyle changes, including a balanced diet and regular physical activity, even after completing your Wegovy® treatment. These habits can help you maintain the weight loss and prevent relapse.
