Is a highly effective, non-surgical skin rejuvenation method that uses targeted laser energy to remove damaged layers of skin and stimulate collagen production. CO2 laser is ideal for treating wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, uneven skin tone and sun damage, promoting smoother, firmer and more youthful skin. The treatment can be adapted to various skin concerns and provides visible results after just one session, with ongoing improvement over time. Downtime typically ranges from a few days to a week, depending on the depth of the treatment. It is suitable for both men and women who want advanced skin rejuvenation with long-lasting effects.

CUSTOMER INFORMATION ABOUT FRACTIONATED CO2
What is CO2 laser?
Fractional Co2 laser (ablative) is a further development of the classic Co2 laser treatment (full ablation) and is a highly effective and new method for significant skin rejuvenation without the same side effects as with Co2 full ablation.
The laser is used to heat and burn the connective tissue in the dermis, which causes the skin to contract and wrinkles and scars to be smoothed out. New elastic and collagen fibers will be formed, as well as new glycosamines (the basic substance of the dermis). The elastic and collagen fibers are important for the density of the elasticity of the skin, the glycosamines bind moisture in the skin and are therefore also of great importance for the appearance of the skin.
The treatment is effective for sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles all over the face, acne scars and stretch marks. Co2 is also used for wrinkles and loose skin under the eyes and as a supplement to non-ablative fractional laser. The effect of the ablative and non-ablative lasers is significantly increased if they are alternated. For very loose skin, a combination with Morpheus8 or FraxTight is also recommended (see website).
A typical course of treatment will consist of 3 treatments with an interval of at least 6 weeks between them for optimal results.
What areas can be treated?
We treat with Co2 laser for the face, neck and chest.
How is the treatment done?
It is important that you are not tanned when you arrive for treatment. Therefore, you should avoid sunbathing and solariums at least 4 weeks prior to treatment, and self-tanning in the area for 2 weeks prior to.
The fractional CO2 laser heats the skin deeply, affecting both the epidermis and the dermis. The skin is heated in small dots arranged in a dense network. These fine, small, precise, controlled injuries provide effective skin rejuvenation and a controlled healing time of approximately 5 days. Around the mouth (in the case of pronounced wrinkles) it may be necessary to perform a treatment under full ablation with a healing time of 2 weeks.
The treatment is performed under local anesthesia. You arrive no later than 45 minutes before your treatment time, where a local anesthetic cream is applied, and if desired and needed, an injection of local anesthesia.
The dermatologist orders ointment from the pharmacy on the day of treatment (in some cases it is provided in the clinic). In the case of herpes outbreaks on the face, supplement with herpes medication. In our clinic, a post-treatment cream can be purchased when the wounds have healed (see recommendations below).
We always recommend using sunscreen both before and after the treatment with SPF 50+ including UVA and UVB filter.
What is the effect of the treatment?
At the same time as the skin contracts, the upper part of the skin is peeled off, forming a nice, new layer of skin. It can take up to 1 year before you see the final result of the treatment . The effect can be 5-10 years younger-looking skin. The result is expected to last for many years, but with age the treatment will of course have to be repeated.
It is never guaranteed that the unwanted skin changes will disappear completely. It will sometimes be possible to see the transition to the untreated skin.
It is important to agree on expectations before treatment. Refunds for treatment will not be made.
Who cannot be treated?
Pregnant and breastfeeding
Relevant allergies
If you have a tattoo or permanent makeup in the area to be treated
If you have connective tissue diseases
If you have keloid formation
If you have an active skin disease or skin cancer
If you are taking medications or herbal remedies that cause photosensitivity or clotting disorders
If there is an active infection in the area, including active herpes
Possible side effects?
Immediately after the treatment, the skin will appear to be prickly and slightly red. In the following days, the redness will increase and slight darkening, sores and slight swelling of the skin may occur. There will be some peeling of the skin. There will be some pain, swelling and fluid in the aftermath.
Healing of the skin takes approx. 5 days. In the first week after treatment, the skin must be washed very carefully (preferably by showering) and then the skin must be washed as you normally do. When the wounds begin to heal, they often itch. To avoid inflammation and scar formation, it is important to avoid scratching the wounds. Make-up can be used 5 days after treatment.
Signs of infection include increasing redness, swelling and pain. If suspected, contact the clinic. In exceptional cases, skin discoloration may occur. Scar formation is extremely rare.
In dark skin types (III-V) temporary hyper-pigmentation may be seen after treatment. In rare cases and where the doctor sets the laser to a high coverage (more ablative), de-pigmentation may occur which may be permanent (loss of pigment).
If there is redness in the skin, it usually disappears after 2-6 months.
Sauna, strenuous physical exercise, chlorine and swimming in the sea are not recommended for the first 3 days.
New skin is formed and it is therefore important to avoid sun exposure for at least 1 month after each treatment to avoid reduced effect of the treatment and pigment disorders.

After reading this written information, you must be given oral information about the treatment and the opportunity to ask questions. Here, the customer must answer questions regarding their health situation. Withholding necessary information about their health and their medication use can increase the risk of side effects. You have the option of bringing an assistant with you. After the oral information, there must be at least seven days of reflection before you give your consent to the treatment and the treatment can take place.
CUSTOMER INFORMATION ABOUT CO2 (SKIN CHANGES)
What is Co2 laser for skin changes?
Benign skin changes in the form of bumps can be removed with Co2 laser treatment. The laser removes skin layer by layer until the changes are gone. The treatment often requires local anesthesia (injection) and there is usually no pain during or after the treatment. A trial treatment of a smaller area may be necessary.
What can be treated?
Only benign elements are removed and not deliberately regular beauty spots (naevi melanocyticus).
How is the treatment done?
It is important that you are not tanned when you arrive for treatment. Therefore, you should avoid sunbathing and solariums at least 4 weeks prior to treatment, and self-tanning in the area for 2 weeks prior to.
The treated area will form sores and ooze for a few days. Chlorhexidine cream, which can be purchased at the pharmacy, can be used. The cream is used until the skin stops oozing. The sores can be covered with a bandage or plaster. When the sore starts to heal, it often itches. To avoid inflammation and scar formation, it is important to avoid scratching the sores.
The treatment is carried out under local anesthesia, where an injection of local anesthesia.
We always recommend using sunscreen both before and after the treatment with SPF 50+ including UVA and UVB filter. Sunscreen MUST be used in the following sun season.
What is the effect of the treatment?
The result depends on the starting point before the treatment as well as the individual's skin type and the skin's ability to form collagen, and whether the specified guidelines are followed in the aftermath.
It is never guaranteed that the unwanted skin changes will disappear completely. This is because to completely remove the element, the treatment must be so “aggressive” that scars will often occur. To avoid this, treatment is done carefully, with the disadvantage that it is sometimes necessary to repeat the treatment.
It is important to agree on expectations before treatment. Refunds for treatment will not be made.
Who cannot be treated?

If you have connective tissue diseases
If you have keloid formation, an active skin disease or skin cancer
If you are taking immunosuppressive medication
If you are taking medications or herbal remedies that cause photosensitivity or clotting disorders
If there is an active infection in the area, including active herpes
Isotretinoin treatment must have been completed at least 6 months before treatment
Possible side effects?
Infection may occur. Signs of infection include increasing redness, swelling and pain. Scarring and discoloration may occur, but this is rare. Laser treatment is not suitable for people who tend to form large, thick scars (“for example, keloid-forming”).
Sauna, strenuous physical exercise, chlorine and swimming in the sea are not recommended for the first week.
When the wound begins to heal, it often itches. To avoid inflammation and scar formation, it is important to avoid scratching the wounds. Make-up can be used 12-14 days after treatment. The redness of the skin gradually disappears after 2-6 months.

CUSTOMER INFORMATION ABOUT CO2 (FULL ABLATION)
What is full ablation with Co2 laser?
The classic, potent CO2 laser (without fractionation) is a highly effective method, but is rarely used today due to side effects and requires full anesthesia if the entire face is to be treated. At Apex, however, we can offer this treatment around the mouth or on the upper lip.
When treating the skin around the mouth, it is very advantageous to combine the ablative method with the fractional ablative method (which is then chosen for other parts of the face). Side effects occur more frequently with CO2 full ablation than with the modern CO2 fractional laser method. On the other hand, CO2 laser treatment with full ablation gives a more effective result after just 1 treatment, whereas with the fractional CO2 laser method, at least 2-3 treatments should be performed at least 6 weeks apart to achieve the same result.
We recommend that you always try the fractional CO2 laser method first before the CO2 full ablation method. With treatment with CO2 full ablation, healing takes up to 2 weeks, in contrast to the fractional CO2 method, where healing takes about 5 days, and where the risk of side effects is significantly lower.
The laser is used to both peel the skin and heat the connective tissue in the dermis, which causes the skin to contract and wrinkles and scars to be smoothed out. New elastic and collagen fibers will be formed, as well as new glycosamines (the basic substance of the dermis). The elastic and collagen fibers are important for the density of the elasticity of the skin, the glycosamines bind moisture in the skin and are therefore also of great importance for the appearance of the skin.
A nice, new layer of skin is formed, and the results are often skin that looks 10 years younger. However, it can take up to 1 year before you can see the final result.
What areas can be treated?
We treat with Co2 laser with full ablation around the mouth.
How is the treatment done?
It is important that you are not tanned when you arrive for treatment. Therefore, you should avoid sunbathing and solariums at least 4 weeks prior to treatment, and self-tanning in the area for 2 weeks prior to.
At the earliest the day before the treatment, an order for fucidin ointment, antibiotics and herpes medicine is placed on the pharmacy server. If painkillers are also desired, see below.
Call the pharmacy before you go there to make sure the order has gone through. Medication can be started the day before treatment or at the latest on the day of treatment.
The treatment is performed under local anesthesia. You arrive no later than 45 minutes before your treatment time, where a local anesthetic cream is applied, and if desired and needed, an injection of local anesthesia.
The skin will improve for up to a year after the treatment and will look significantly younger, and acne scars will become nicer and smoother. The effect is expected to last for many years, but over time the treatment will need to be repeated as the skin naturally continues to age.
It is never guaranteed that the unwanted skin changes will disappear completely. It will sometimes be possible to see the transition to the untreated skin.
It is important to agree on expectations before treatment. Refunds for treatment will not be made.

Skin healing takes 10-14 days (as opposed to fractional CO2 treatment, where healing only takes about 5 days). For the first 2 weeks after treatment with CO2 full ablation laser, the skin should first be washed gently with lukewarm water, and then the skin should be washed as you normally would. Immediately after the treatment, there will be some pain, swelling and fluid in the aftermath.
Sauna, strenuous physical exercise, chlorine and swimming in the sea are not recommended for the first week.

If the skin starts to ooze, vinegar water should be used to clean the skin. It is made from ½ liter of boiled, cooled water with a capful of ordinary white vinegar added. Gauze napkins or cotton cloths are moistened in the vinegar water and applied to the skin 4 times a day for 10 minutes at a time. The vinegar water also prevents infection.
