What is fat freezing with CoolTech?
The CoolTech® treatment is designed to change and shape the body’s appearance (BodySculpting). You can achieve both general slimming of the body and targeted fat reduction in specific areas. CoolTech® fat freezing is a non-invasive treatment of fat tissue. As a result of the treatment, there is a permanent breakdown of fat tissue, which is particularly sensitive to temperature changes. The broken-down fat tissue is naturally removed (via the lymphatic system) through a process that begins 14 days after treatment and continues for 90 days.
This is a natural and safe fat reduction, allowing you to avoid surgery, provided you have a normal or near-normal BMI, i.e., you are not significantly overweight. It is a treatment especially suitable for people who, despite a healthy diet and exercise, struggle to get rid of stubborn fat deposits in specific areas of the body.

Fat cells are sensitive to temperature changes, and freezing causes permanent breakdown of the fat cells. Unlike fat tissue, skin, muscles, blood vessels, and nerves are not damaged by the cold. The method is relatively painless for most people.
What is the effect of the treatment?
Most people achieve up to a 25% reduction in unwanted body fat with one treatment. The result is effective because fat cells are destroyed in the treated areas. Results are often visible after just one treatment (with normal BMI). If you have a slightly elevated BMI, you should expect to repeat the treatment after 3 months in the same area to achieve further results.
The number of necessary treatments to achieve the desired result is an estimate, as the exact number is impossible to predict due to individual variations in treatment effectiveness.
The body needs time to break down and remove the fat cells after treatment. You can expect to start seeing results after 2-4 weeks, with gradual progress until the final result is visible after about 12 weeks.

Possible side effects?
The treatment area will be red after treatment, lasting from minutes to a few hours. Occasionally, local bruising (suction marks) can appear under the applicator corresponding to its size due to the vacuum created during treatment.
There may be reduced sensitivity or changes in skin sensitivity in the treated area lasting up to 8 weeks. Fatigue, possibly combined with mild fever lasting less than 24 hours, is also normal.
Pain in the treated area for 7-10 days, possibly combined with edema (swelling) but at a level that does not affect daily activities, is not uncommon.
Rare side effects include fainting due to discomfort during treatment, skin damage such as blisters caused by cooling. Extremely rare side effects include paradoxical fat hyperplasia (1 in 20,000 treatments). In this extremely rare case, only liposuction can resolve the problem.
Apex will assist in finding a competent plastic surgeon in Denmark who is familiar with the problem and negotiate a good price for liposuction. Apex does not pay for the procedure, and since this is not considered malpractice, patient compensation is not available.
