What is Profhilo / Profhilo Structura?
Profhilo and Profhilo Structura consist of an injectable stabilized hyaluronic acid gel that contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market. As we age, the amount of substances such as hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases, causing the skin to become more lax.
Profhilo increases the skin’s moisture level while stimulating the skin’s production of collagen and elastin, making it suitable for treating loose and crepey skin.
Profhilo also has an anti-inflammatory effect in the tissue and can therefore reduce many stress factors in the skin such as eczema, redness, and broken capillaries. Profhilo contains no chemical cross-linking agents and is therefore a product that does not increase volume, but rather restores the skin’s elasticity and firmness.
Profhilo Structura is a product for the prevention and restoration of lost volume in the face. Profhilo Structura differs from the classic Profhilo by containing more hyaluronic acid and is specially developed to work on the superficial fat tissue. Profhilo Structura stimulates fat deposits and provides a slight lift to the face.
Both treatments are offered in two sessions, four weeks apart, and are perfect for those who want to improve skin quality, especially if they have thin or beginning lax skin.
Whereas classic Profhilo improves the skin’s moisture level, glow, and strengthens the skin barrier, Profhilo Structura is suited for those who want a preventive treatment against loss of facial fat tissue, as well as for those who have already started noticing signs of aging with loss of volume and shape and want a treatment to restore volume.

Which areas can be treated?
Profhilo can be used on both face and body. Profhilo Structura is intended for use on the face.
How does the treatment work?
The product is injected beneath the skin surface in small deposits, after which the gel spreads evenly throughout the area over 24-48 hours. The number of injections depends on the treatment area. The treatment is not completely painless; a stinging and burning sensation can occur but will quickly subside.
You should avoid touching the treated area for 4 hours after treatment due to the risk of infection. Applying makeup to the area is also discouraged during this period.
Until the swelling has completely subsided, extreme heat such as sun exposure and sauna is discouraged, and direct cooling with ice is also not recommended.
What is the effect of the treatment?
Profhilo stimulates the skin’s own production of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin. Collagen and elastin help improve the skin’s structure and increase its elasticity, restore glow, strengthen the skin barrier, and initiate the skin’s own natural rejuvenation process.
The duration of the product’s effect varies individually. The expected duration of the treatment is up to one year, where natural aging processes and lifestyle factors are the determining factors.
To maintain optimal results, the treatment should be repeated approximately every 6-12 months. In most cases, only a single treatment is required.

If you are taking immunosuppressive or blood-thinning medication
Possible side effects?
Immediately after treatment, there may be small bumps at the injection sites, which usually disappear within a short time. There is a risk of mild to moderate swelling, redness, tenderness, and bruising. These reactions typically resolve within a few days and in most cases within one week.
Infections are rare. If signs of infection occur, contact the clinic as antibiotic treatment may be necessary to reduce the risk of permanent scarring. Some may develop a pimple-like rash in the treated area, and cold sores (herpes) can be reactivated.
In rare cases, hyaluronidase can be used to dissolve injected Profhilo. However, you must not be allergic to wasps or bees and must remain at the clinic for 30 minutes after injection for observation for allergic reactions.
In very rare cases, redness may persist for several months or granulomas (connective tissue nodules under and within the skin) may form. Very rarely, permanent changes that are difficult to treat may occur. In extremely rare side effects, injection of Profhilo into blood vessels may cause sudden darkening or paleness of the skin that worsens hours after treatment. It is important to contact the clinic immediately so treatment can begin as soon as possible. This also applies if vision is affected.
