Retinol Peeling uses vitamin A derivatives to accelerate cell renewal and promote exfoliation of dead skin cells. This treatment is effective against fine lines, uneven skin tone, and mild acne by stimulating collagen production and improving skin elasticity.
After the treatment, many patients experience renewed skin with a youthful glow. Retinol Peeling is suitable for most skin types and requires minimal recovery time, although some may experience slight peeling or redness afterward. Our therapists adjust the concentration of retinol according to your skin’s sensitivity and desired results, ensuring a safe and effective treatment.

What is Retinol Peeling?
A peeling is a treatment of the skin using a chemical solution. Peelings can reduce irregularities in skin pigmentation, increase the formation of elastic fibers in the dermis, stimulate the formation of new skin and the skin’s ground substance, which binds moisture in the skin.
Peelings can be used for acne, rosacea, acne scars, fine wrinkles, and pigmentation changes (including melasma). There are several types of peelings: very superficial peelings, usually performed by beauticians, and medium-depth peelings, performed by specially trained nurses and doctors.
Apex uses superficial peelings with Retinol, Jessner peelings, salicylic acid peelings, PH peelings (only in Aalborg), and TCA peelings.
Retinol Peeling is a highly effective peeling for professional use in clinics. It is especially suitable for acne and skin rejuvenation. The advanced formula contains Retinol and other active ingredients that work together to exfoliate and improve skin texture, clarity, firmness, and tone. The peeling acts superficially and is suitable for all skin types.
We always recommend 2-3 peelings in a course with 6-8 weeks intervals. If you have pronounced irregularities, discolorations, and lines/wrinkles, we recommend up to 4-5 peelings. You can maintain beautiful skin by repeating Retinol peelings 1-2 times or more per year as needed.
How does the treatment work?
The skin must be free of makeup and is then cleansed with alcohol and acetone to remove all dirt and oils. The peeling is applied to the skin with a brush. Your therapist observes the effect of the peeling for about 10 minutes, after which any remaining peeling solution is massaged into the skin. You will be instructed when to wash the peeling off with water. After that, you are ready to go home or to work, while taking special care to avoid sun exposure.
Remember to wash off the Retinol peeling with water after the agreed time. If you feel discomfort before the agreed time has passed, you may wash it off then.
Once the peeling is removed, you should only use moisturizing and skin-repairing products during the following week. No further exfoliation or facial masks should be used.
For all types of peelings, it is important to avoid sun exposure completely while the skin is affected after the treatment. This means as long as there is slight redness in the skin, as otherwise darkening of the skin can occur.
We always recommend using sunscreen before and after treatment with SPF 50+ including UVA and UVB protection.
What is the effect of the treatment?
After 2-3 treatments, the result is usually smoother and fresher skin with improved texture and increased firmness. The result is essentially permanent, but like all skin, it will age again over time. In some cases, a course of 4-5 treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired effect.
It is important to have clear expectations before treatment. Refunds are not offered for the treatment.
Who should not be treated?
Pregnant and breastfeeding women
If you have relevant allergies
If there is an active infection in the area, including active herpes
If surgery has recently been performed in the area
Use of Isotretinoin must have ended at least 1 month before treatment
Avoid shaving the area to be treated on the same day
Possible side effects?
Immediately after peeling, the skin may feel slightly tight, which is completely normal and temporary. Visible peeling is an expected and normal effect of Retinol peeling, usually occurring 2-4 days after treatment, sometimes up to about 1 week. The intensity of peeling can vary from person to person. In some cases, no peeling occurs, but the treatment still has the same good effect. The skin may also be a bit more sensitive and develop redness, which disappears after about 1 week.
