It is a gentle, non-invasive procedure that uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to target skin concerns such as sun damage, pigmentation spots, redness, rosacea, and broken capillaries. The treatment works by delivering light energy deep into the skin, which stimulates collagen production and promotes a more even skin tone and smoother texture. IPL is suitable for the face, neck, chest, and hands, and is ideal for those who wish to rejuvenate their skin without downtime. The treatment is safe for most skin types and can also reduce pore size and improve overall skin clarity. A series of treatments is often recommended for optimal results. With minimal discomfort and no recovery time, IPL is a popular choice for clearer and more youthful-looking skin.

What is IPL?
IPL is a method used to treat various skin conditions using light from a xenon plasma lamp.
What is IPL suitable for treating?
IPL is increasingly being used to treat a variety of conditions such as:
Pigmentation irregularities, such as “age spots,” sun damage, freckles, etc.
Vascular conditions such as rosacea, small broken capillaries, telangiectasia, and flushed/red skin.
Skin rejuvenation and tightening, also known as photorejuvenation.
Different wavelengths are used to reach different depths in the skin, allowing for treatment of various issues.

How does IPL work?
When the light is transmitted through the skin, it is absorbed by chromophores—substances that can absorb light and convert it into heat. In the skin, these include pigment and oxyhemoglobin (the oxygen-carrying component in blood). IPL can therefore be used to remove broken capillaries.

What is the difference between IPL and laser?
IPL technology uses a broad spectrum of light sources with wavelengths ranging from 515 to 1200 nm. The advantage of using a broad spectrum is that the light can target various specific structures in the skin, unlike lasers which focus on a single specific structure.
The advantage of lasers is that they can be more powerful and are designed to target highly specific structures in the skin.
The benefit of IPL is that it can treat large areas of skin and simultaneously address vascular issues, pigmentation, and sun damage.
